Realistic μPMU Data Generation for Different Real-Time Events in an Unbalanced Distribution Network

Monitoring, protection, and control processes are becoming more complex as distributed energy resources (DERs) penetrate distribution networks (DNs). This is due to the inherent nature of power DNs bi-directional flow current from various sources loads. To improve system’s situational awareness, grid dynamics entire DER integration must be carefully monitored using synchronized high-resolution real-time measurement data physical devices installed in DN. μPMUs have been introduced into DN help with this. In comparison traditional devices, can measure voltage, current, their phasors, addition frequency rate change (ROCOF). this study, an approach generating realistic event for a real utility utilizing strategically proposed. The method employs IEEE 34 test feeder 12 strategic locations generate events-based μPMU awareness applications unbalanced node voltages line currents were used analyze no-fault fault events. author generated part his PhD research project, operation experience location studies was modeled DIgSILENT PowerFactory (DP) software. utilized developing data-driven algorithms different event-detection, classification section-identification works.
